Take a classic spa town and pair it with a sustainable hotel and an exciting design – a recipe for the perfect mix!
For Leonardo Hotels, we planned a 190-bed building in the world-famous spa resort of Bad Windsheim. The first wow effect of the 4-star-plus hotel already happens on the outside: The roof is completely green and slopes downwards. This creates a green façade facing the inner courtyard. The iconic visual language carries through the entire design: The building is octagonal and each of the rooms has a triangular feel-good balcony – putting the icing on the cake when it comes to the design.
By using the clever octagonal floor plan, we are creating a highly efficient shape: We make full use of the plot, do not lose any usable space and at the same time provide a striking entrance area. Design and function are perfectly combined.
When we design a hotel, we always think about how we would like to spend our holidays ourselves. Part of this is: We want to sleep well! Thanks to a smart arrangement of the rooms and the enclosed courtyard, the rooms are blissfully quiet. And: They are very generously sized, as are the windows.
Bad Windsheim is world-famous for its thermal spa, which attracts over a million visitors every year. The hotel is right next door and guests can simply walk across through a protected connecting walkway – we call it the “bathrobe alley”.
