Take a classic spa town, pair it with a sustainable hotel and an exciting design, and there you have it: the perfect mix!

In the world-famous thermal spa town of Bad Windsheim, we have planned a 190-bed new build for Leonardo Hotels. The first wow effect of the four-star-plus hotel begins on the outside: the roof is completely planted and curves downwards, creating a green façade facing the inner courtyard. This iconic visual language runs through the entire design: the building is octagonal, and each of the rooms gets a triangular feel-good balcony, which puts the icing on the cake.
By using the clever octagonal floor plan, we create a highly efficient form: we make full use of the plot, lose none of the usable space, and at the same time create a striking entrance. Here, design and function are combined to perfection.
When we design a hotel, we always think about how we ourselves would like to spend a holiday. Part of that is: we want to sleep well! Thanks to a smart arrangement of the rooms and the enclosed inner courtyard, the rooms are wonderfully quiet. And they are very generously proportioned, as are the windows.
Bad Windsheim is world-famous for its thermal spa, which attracts over a million visitors every year. The hotel is right next door and guests can simply walk across through a protected connecting walkway – we call it the “bathrobe alley”.
