In order to develop a car-free neighbourhood in locations without excellent public transport, residents need a great garage – from which they can get to any house or flat. Thus, an essential part of the design is the underground car park sloping with the terrain. Above ground, we then opted for a playful network of organic footpaths – which branch out ever more finely like a river delta. This creates semi-public spaces that provide ideal conditions for families. The buildings are conceived as staggered townhouse typologies in which roof and façade surfaces merge into one. The strong colour concept echoes the colour scheme of the nearby Laxenburg Castle.
