We love heritage conservation! Especially when the building is in great condition and still inspires timeless enthusiasm, like here at Alexanderplatz. The reorganisation of retail space and its presentation to the outside world is something that can only be successful if we architects do justice to our mission. In this case, this means mediating between the visibility of the brands and the perception from outside. Our concept – white on the upper floor, black on the ground floor – is complemented by canopies, which can highlight entrances in a flexible manner. We then proposed the most noticeable modifications on the annexe dating from the nineties. You can see the result beautifully today, as you’re leaving Alexa: the façade looks so much more elegant without the dirty slats.
